Speaking at the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving held on 1st July in Accra, Archbishop Duncan-Williams called on Ghanaians to embrace their homeland, pursue their education locally, and thrive in their endeavours within the country.
He underscored the importance of building a nation where opportunities abound for all and where success can be achieved without the need to seek a better life beyond Ghana’s borders.
He charged President John Dramani Mahama to continue doing his utmost to make Ghana a better and more prosperous place for its people.

Reflecting on the nation’s past, Archbishop Duncan-Williams lamented how Ghana was once ahead of countries like Singapore, China, and Malaysia in terms of development.
However, he noted with concern that those nations have now surpassed Ghana significantly. His message was both a call to action and a plea for national renewal rooted in faith, unity, and purposeful leadership.
