The Algerian, pulled out the Ghana international’s jersey amidst a loud applause from the home fans.
Forward Atnaud Kalimuendo bagged a hat trick, with Ludovic Blas adding the other for Rennes who move up to 12th on the Ligue 1 standings.
Seidu had played every game for Rennes this season until the devastating injury last weekend.
He is expected to be out of action for the next 8-9 months.
